Sun, Stars and Stripes

Thanks to  a free local Publication called "OKIE" we learned  that May 21 was Armed Forces Day and there was a  parade right in Lawton that day! A small town military parade!! Like in those old movies maybe??? We had to check this out - so here are a  bunch of photos of this event. We had a really  great time, waving the flag and cheering and clapping ( and  laughing a  lot )!! It was a  beautiful sunny & warm day,  and we got right into the spirit of it all."Americana"

...and some little  movies.......you can  hear a strange Aussie accent  in the background  of some of these, including the cackling  laugh of some sheila. This parade went  on for quite a long time too..
amongst these very short  little movies  you will see marching bands, soldiers "cadence", Native Americans, men wearing funny hats in funny little cars ( Shriners ), horses,  cowboys, motorbikes, tanks..and more..

When the parade was over, we saw  the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons....
 ....and this cool music shop.
